I’m feeling really behind with information here. It is true… WordPress 5.4 will automatically lazy load images, so you no longer need to install 3rd party options to ensure that images are loading properly.
This does not remove the fact that images are becoming more and more important and all the options to optimize and properly label images is really important. Sizing images for their placement will still impact your site substantially and I recommend optimizing all images before you load them onto your website. Being hyper aware of what you are putting on your website and sizes is very important to keeping your site technically in good shape.
